Community Research Resources

Community-based research is at the heart of the SPARC Lab. We often work in a paradigm that sees research as a product of both community expertise and interdisciplinary academic training. There are varying levels of engagement in this type of work which recognizes that  many communities have historically been disempowered by extractive research processes. Here, we envision community-members as co-researchers and direct beneficiaries of the products and processes of the engaged research. A community may be defined by geography, demography, ethnicity, profession, faith or shared set of experiences, and people are members of many, often nested, communities.
